[:de]Weißt du, wieviele Chamäleons es auf der Welt gibt? Aktuell sind es genau 228 Arten! Die meisten davon kommen in Afrika vor, über 40% davon sogar nur auf der Insel Madagaskar. Aber auch im Süden Spaniens, in Italien, der Türkei und in Indien gibt es Chamäleons. Von farbgewaltig bis klein und braun, von winzig klein bis riesig groß ist alles dabei. Eine unglaubliche Vielfalt macht diese Reptiliengruppe einzigartig. Und es sind längst noch nicht alle Arten beschrieben!

Do you know how many chameleons there are in the world? There are currently exactly 228 species! Most of them are found in Africa, over 40% of them only on the island of Madagascar. But there are also chameleons in southern Spain, Italy, Turkey and India. They range from brightly coloured to small and brown, from tiny to huge. An incredible variety makes this group of reptiles unique. And not all species have been described yet!
