Presentation in Krefeld about Kenya
On Friday 8 May 2026, Stefanie and Stefan Leber will give a richly illustrated talk about their journey through Kenya.
From mid-November to early December, the couple spent several weeks in Kenya in East Africa. They began their journey in the famous Aberdare Mountains at an altitude of 3,700 metres, where they came face to face with elephants and spotted their first chameleons. As the trip continued, we visited a small, idyllic island in Lake Baringo and went on a snake safari with Watamu Snake Farm and into Kakamega Forest. And after a detour to Nairobi, they rounded off the trip with a visit to Rukinga Sanctuary in Tsavo West, a fantastic area not only for herpetologists but also for birdwatchers! This talk is packed with photos and encounters with wildlife. There were also quite a few chameleons to be seen in Kenya, including Trioceros ellioti, Trioceros hoehnelli and Rhampholeon boulengeri.
