Eine interessante Beobachtung machte ein Madagaskarreisender mit seinem Guide im letzten Jahr: In Ranomafana im s\u00fcdlichen Hochland der Insel beobachtete er zwei Mal, dass Calumma oshaughnessyi<\/em> Jungtiere sich in einer invasiven Pflanze verfangen und offenbar in Folge dessen gestorben waren. Die Autoren vermuten, dass die Tiere sich nicht mehr von den kleinen, feinen Widerhaken der Pflanze l\u00f6sen konnten und dadurch m\u00f6glicherweise verhungerten.<\/p>\n

Die betreffende Pflanze ist der Spanische Klee (Desmodium uncinatum<\/em>), der sich heute bereits weltweit verbreitet hat. Er ist eine gute Futterpflanze f\u00fcr Vieh, das auf Madagaskar einen hohen Symbolwert hat. Aus Indien und Australien gibt es jedoch Fallberichte, laut denen sich Flederm\u00e4use und andere kleine S\u00e4ugetiere an den klett-\u00e4hnlichen Pflanzenst\u00e4ngeln verfingen und starben. Untersuchungen zu diesem Thema w\u00e4ren sicher spannend und insbesondere f\u00fcr Jungtiere von Cham\u00e4leons auch durchaus wichtig.<\/p>\n
