Speziell \u00fcber die Reptilien der K\u00fcstenregion Marsa El Brega ist kaum etwas bekannt. Marsa El Brega liegt im Norden Libyens direkt am Mittelmeer und verf\u00fcgt dementsprechend \u00fcber ein mediterranes Klima. Die Vegetation besteht vorwiegend aus w\u00fcstenartigen Landschaft mit niedrigen Str\u00e4uchern wie <em>Nitraria retusa<\/em> und kleinen Dattelpalm-Oasen dazwischen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ein ungarischer Herpetologe hat w\u00e4hrend zweier Expeditionen die Reptilienvorkommen in Marsa El Brega untersucht. Das genaue Vorgehen zum Auffinden von Tieren wird leider nicht im Artikel erw\u00e4hnt. Alle aufgefundenen Tiere wurden fotografiert und Arten nach vorhandenen Field Guides ph\u00e4notypisch bestimmt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Insgesamt fand der Autor 25 Reptilienarten in der Region Marsa El Brega, darunter zwei <em>Chamaeleo chameleon<\/em>, je eines im Abstand von zwei Tagen. Die angegebenen Koordianten zum Fundort liegen im Au\u00dfenbereich der Stadt Brega, direkt neben dem Garten eines Bed\u2019n\u2019Breakfast in Richtung Strand. Der Autor gibt vor allem streunende Hunde und Katzen als potenziell gr\u00f6\u00dfte Gefahr f\u00fcr die lokale Herpetofauna an.
