Ein jetzt erschienener Artikel von Prof. Dr. Wolfgang B\u00f6hme und Naturhistoriker Thore Koppetsch besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit genau diesem Thema.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Der Inhalt reicht vom sogenannten Brooklyn-Papyrus, das ein nach wie vor ungekl\u00e4rtes \u201eFarben wechselndes\u201c Wesen der Antike beschrieb, bis zu skurrilen Ereignissen mit Muttermilch und Cham\u00e4leons im Gambia unserer Zeit. Der wohl \u00e4lteste schriftliche Nachweis eines Cham\u00e4leons stammt aus Griechenland, von Aristoteles pers\u00f6nlich, der von 384 bis 322 vor Christus lebte. Auf das Griechische, geht vermutlich auch der Begriff Cham\u00e4leon selbst zur\u00fcck: <em>chamai<\/em> und <em>leon<\/em> wurden zusammengesetzt zum \u201eErdl\u00f6wen\u201c. Ganz unumstritten ist diese Deutung f\u00fcr die Herkunft des Wortes jedoch nicht.
