Das Aravalligebirge liegt rund 150 km westlich der indischen Hauptstadt New Delhi im Nordwesten Indiens. Es verl\u00e4uft \u00fcber 670 km in s\u00fcdwestlicher Richtung und f\u00fchrt dabei durch drei verschiedene Bundesstaaten: Haryana, Rajasthan und Gujarat. Bisher ging man davon aus, dass das Indische Cham\u00e4leon im S\u00fcden und im Zentrum Rajasthans vorkommt, aber weder im Norden, Osten noch Westen verbreitet sei. Aus Haryana waren bisher gar keine Funde dokumentiert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Der Biologe beschreibt sechs Beobachtungen des Indischen Cham\u00e4leons zwischen 2015 und 2022. Dabei wurde <em>Chamaeleo zeylanicus<\/em> vier Mal im Sariska Tiger Reservat sowie je einmal an den Seen Manesar und Damdama gesehen, auf H\u00f6hen zwischen 223 und 476 m \u00fcNN. Ersteres liegt im Norden Rajasthan, die beiden Seen unweit davon im S\u00fcden Haryanas. Der Wald des Fundortes im Sariska Tiger Reserva sei dominiert von Indischem Lungenkraut (<em>Adhatoda vasica<\/em>), Pr\u00e4rieampfer (<em>Parthenium integrifolium<\/em>) und Mesquitebaum (<em>Prosopis juliflora<\/em>).
